Through online petitions, letter writing, call in campaigns, and other actions, we make the voices and interests of working people heard in the halls of power in Tallahassee and throughout the state. The mission of the Florida Center for Fiscal and Economic Policy is to conduct independent research, develop new ideas, and advise policymakers on state fiscal and economic policy.  The Center pays particular attention to policy impacts on low- and moderate-income individuals, families and neighborhoods, workers, and small businesses.  The Center works to heighten public awareness of the need to adequately fund programs that improve opportunities, choices, quality of life outcomes, and the economic well-being of all Floridians.


The Florida Alliance for Retired Americans (FLARA), a non-profit organization based in Wellington, Florida, actively pursues and promotes legislation and public policies that are in the best interest of current and future retired Floridians.   Through the active civic involvement of it’s over 200,000 members, FLARA advocates programs and activities at all levels of government to prepare for the growing population of older Floridians who desire to remain self-sufficient.

Central Florida Jobs With Justice is a coalition consisting of labor unions, community organizations, faith based groups and students working together to build power for working people. We are a part of the national Jobs with Justice which is a network of over 45 coalitions organizing in their communities along side with us for social and economic justice.

We are the statewide union of teachers, education staff professionals, and higher ed faculty and graduate assistants working together to maintain the right to a free, quality public education for all students. The mission of The Florida Professional Fire Fighters is to be an advocate in Florida's State Capitol, Counties, Cities and Special Districts for Firefighters, Paramedics and the Fire/Rescue services as a whole. Inform and educate our members in order to place them on a higher plane of professionalism. Encourage and promote mutual assistance between all paid professional firefighters and associated services.

AFSCME Council 79 is the second largest union in Florida with 90 locals representing approximately 110,000 employees of the state, state universities, cities and counties, school boards and private nonprofit hospitals.

Our members work in the Finishing Trades as industrial and commercial painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, glass workers, floor covering installers, sign makers, display workers, convention and show decorators and in many more exciting occupations. IUPAT members’ skills are in high demand at every construction project in North America.
