It is Official!  The 2009 Biennial Convention of the Florida AFL-CIO Unanimously Elects….

Mike Williams – President

Brian Dempsey – Secretary-Treasurer

On Thursday, October 7^th, 200 delegates representing over 500 local unions from across Florida unanimously elected new executive officers to lead the Florida AFL-CIO.  Mike Williams, the immediate past-president of the Florida Building Trades Council and long time labor activist was elected as president of the Florida AFL-CIO.  Brian Dempsey, who most recently served as the president of UAW Local 1821 in Ocala was elected to serve as the Secretary-Treasurer.  Check out below for the  Convention Reporter for each of the three days of the 2009 Biennial Convnetion.
