AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka Awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom

Richard Trumka Jr. accepted the Presidential Medal of Freedom in honor of his father.

Thursday, July 7th, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our nation’s highest civilian honor.

“Richard Trumka dedicated his entire life to fighting for workers’ rights, racial justice, democracy & so much more. There is no one else I can think of who deserves our nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.” wrote current AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler about Trumka receiving the award.

President Trumka spent his entire life fighting for America’s working people, we honor his legacy and continue his fight!
